Asociația Club Sportiv Sepsi SIC Sfântu Gheorghe or commonly Sepsi SIC is a women's basketball professional club based in Sfântu Gheorghe (''Sepsiszentgyörgy''), in Romania. The former club was ''Sepsi BC'', but it was dissolved in 2012 and replaced by Sepsi SIC. The club competes in the Romanian First League and for the first time in the EuroCup Women in the 2013-14 season. Sepsi SIC refers to the Hungarian name of the city, Sepsiszentgyörgy and SIC to the abbreviation of the Székely Land. ==The former club== The Kelemen Mikes High School club, Mikes Kelemen ISK reached the top-level in 2007. One year later, this club won the Romanian Cup (Cupa României) and brought his first trophy to the city of Sfântu Gheorghe. In 2008 and 2009, the club finished second, in 2010 third of the Romanian Championship. It played twice in the EuroCup Women and reached both times the sixteenth-finals, losing to Cras Basket Taranto and Zaragoza. Between 2009 and 2011, the club's name was Sepsi BC. The 2011-2012 season was the worst of the club, which was renamed into BBALL6 Sepsi BC. Because of debts, the club of Sfântu Gheorghe had to file for bankruptcy. The city stood without a women's basketball team only during a couple of months. A new team, Sepsi SIC was born, with a new directorate, a coach and players who have already played for the former team.
